Nicole Morris works predominantly with film and video exploring ideas around space and ones understanding of their own position in a space. Her current practice, which is informed by the process of mapping, attempts to inhabit the disparities and unsuspecting crossovers between the still, flat plane of the map in relation to the actual experience of being within that particular place. Her work provokes a moment of clarity and further uncertainty similar to when the map-reader finds his place within the landscape and points to ‘I am here’.
